Twitter

My ICT 12 teacher uses Twitter for a variety of different reasons. In a professional sense, he posts up information regarding new programs and uses to support his ICT and Physics courses. And by doing so, he is returned with feedback or answers to questions.

You can visit his Twitter page:
http://twitter.com/petervogel

For professional use, since I am into musical arts, I could use it for exposure or promotion of my musical material. Thus, this would potentially accumulate followers and subscribers, in the intention of creating a fanbase.

Class Update #5

In class, we are now wrapping up on our Turbo Pascal work. As well, in Google Analytics, I've seen changes with 32 visits, all by users in Canada & US. In addition, we checked our vistors' screen resolutions and the largest one was from a 1920x1200 resolution.

OLPC XO Laptop

Last year, students in this course held a fundraiser to buy two XO laptops. These laptops have been designed for use by students in third-world countries. They are given to students to take home where in some cases they might be the only source of light. The class kept one laptop and the other was donated to the OLPC program.

The XO contains many innovative features such as daylight visible screen, a flash drive, mesh networking, and a large colection of pre-installed software.

Poll Everywhere

Today, our teacher sent us links to our email which brought us to a website allowing us to vote on certain topics by texting from our cell phones. The statistics would show on a graph displaying in real time, which I found quite fascinating.

Class Update #3

According to the past couple of classes, we learned how to determine our binary position number using our placements in class; my binary number is 20 and 10100. Moreover, we visited WolframAlpha.com to figure out our binary position in hexidecimal form. Lastly, we signed up for a Google Analytics account to be able to track our blogs.
